- Breeding Birds Surveys – Peak District moorlands, update 20th December 2019The following statement has been released by Moors for the Future Partnership and Natural England, following the publication of bird surveys in October 2019:
- Volunteers brave the elements to plant sphagnum moss 16th December 2019A major planting project in the Staffordshire Moorlands will help to improve water quality and create more species-rich moors. Staff and volunteers from the South West Peak Landscape Partnership took part in a week-long sphagnum moss planting project.
- First projects receive funding through new Peak District National Park Foundation 9th December 2019Wildlife, hedgerow conservation and hydro electricity projects are the first to benefit from funds through the new Peak District National Park Foundation. Grants have been awarded through the Foundation’s #70kfor70 campaign, which launched during National Parks Week in April.
- New National Park ‘Ambassador’ centres are bringing the story of the Peak District to life for the region’s young people 5th December 2019A range of outdoor activity, education and residential centres from around the region have become Peak District National Park ‘Ambassador Centres’.
- Peak District is breath of fresh air for refugees and asylum seekers 4th December 2019Refugees and asylum seekers pulled on their wellies to enjoy their first experience of the Peak District National Park. The visit was organised by Peak District National Park ranger Sally Wheal and colleagues Rob Kenning and Pete Bush, along with Derby-based charity Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity (DRS).

- Repeated break-ins put Dovedale facilities at risk 19th November 2019The Peak District National Park Authority has warned that a spate of break-ins and thefts from its Dovedale public toilets could put the facility at risk of closure. The public toilets, based at the popular car park at Dovedale between Ilam and Thorpe, recently suffered their fourth incident this year.

- New archaeology book – Reading the Peak District Landscape 15th November 2019A new book has been launched to help people understand how the Peak District landscape has been shaped over thousands of years by past generations.
- Couple ordered to pay £42,000 after alterations harm historic character of Grade II listed building in Peak District National Park 5th November 2019A married couple have been ordered to pay £42,000 in penalties after making unauthorised alterations to a building dating back to the 17th century, in the Derbyshire village of Winster. Christopher and Sarah Gillott, along with joiner Simon Mcloughlin, were sentenced at Derby Crown Court, following a prosecution by the Peak District National Park Authority.
