History Group launches “who lived in my house?” project

Ancestry Research sub-group

The History Group are commencing a new Ancestry Research project.
We are planning to research “who lived in my house” and family ancestry links, with an aim of building up a picture of the history of the village dwellers.

We will be accessing the internet to search information, but will also look at title deeds and maps, as well as information from “village historians”. It is not necessary for you to be a computer wizard, as a lot of the work will involve making hard copies of the information so it can be displayed for reference purposes.

It is planned to meet throughout the winter months on a Monday evening 7.00 pm – 8.00 pm in the Bakehouse. It will be on an informal basis, and it will not matter if you can’t attend one week.
The initial meeting will be held on Monday 30 October, where we will discuss the way forward, and we would like you to join us to get this project started.

If you are interested and would like to be involved in the project, please contact
