Hartington Nature Watch – Get involved in The Big Butterfly Count and OPAL National Citizen Science Surveys

The school summer holidays provide an ideal opportunity to venture into the local countryside, or even just the garden, to check out the state of the local environment. While you are there why not get involved in helping monitor the state of the UK environment with these online resources?

The big butterfly count is on until 11th August. Find out more and download an identification chart at : https://www.bigbutterflycount.org

OPAL surveys and identification charts cover everything from Bugs through to Air and Climate Surveysand are available to download online from : https://www.opalexplorenature.org/surveys

Data you collect from the Big Butterfly Count and the OPAL surveys can then be uploaded to the respective websites to help scientists give an overall picture of the state of the UK Countryside.
