Please clean it up

A polite request to dog owners walking their dogs in and around Hartington.   There has recently been an increase in dog waste in the village and on some of the lanes,  e.g. Leisure Lane and Reynards Lane   Please pick up after your dog, bag it and then bin it.   Thank you.

Mere water level update from Parish Council

“On Saturday 14th January, Richard Sherratt and myself used drainage rods to clear the overflow outlet pipe which should run into the Stanner. However we encountered a total collapse after approximately 30 yards, under the tarmac opposite the cheese shop garden. High water level in the meer

The Parish Council are aware the outlet between the pond and the stanner is blocked, so the pond is rapidly filling with all this rain. We haven’t a solution at present but are looking at ways we can unblock the culvert or pipework between the two.
