  “Think how to be… Kinder.” That was the message of former Pulp frontman and BBC Radio 2 presenter Jarvis Cocker at the Spirit of Kinder Day at Castleton on Saturday (April 27).
• Peak District Photography Gallery welcomes Chris Nowell exhibition 26th April 2019
  An exhibition by visually impaired landscape photographer Chris Nowell is inspiring people to see the Peak District National Park and photography in a new light – as a means of rehabilitation after life’s setbacks.
• Anti-litter heroes invited to ‘Pick and Play’ in the Peak District National Park 26th April 2019
  Members of the public are invited to help clean up the Peak District National Park in an annual litter picking event.
• Applications invited for new members of the Peak District National Park Authority 18th April 2019
  Defra (the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) is inviting applications from individuals to join the Peak District National Park Authority, as Secretary of State members
• National Park visitors urged to ‘take it home’ as litter and rubbish collection costs hit £37,000 per year 17th April 2019
  National Park rangers are asking visitors to think twice before leaving litter in the Peak District, as figures estimate more than 60 tonnes of rubbish a year is being removed from some of the most popular locations.
• Lorna’s epic Pedalling the Parks for #70kfor70 starts on Saturday 11th April 2019
  This Saturday (13 April) sees intrepid Lorna Fisher pedal off on her epic 1658-mile cycle ride – taking in all 15 UK national parks in just two weeks.
• Trail improvements to take place at Fernilee Reservoir 11th April 2019
  Soon, visitors to the beautiful Fernilee reservoir in the Goyt Valley will be able to enjoy improved access to the peaceful waterside trail on the east side of the reservoir.
• School-age people are invited to take environmental action in Buxton 10th April 2019
  Young people aged 13 to 18 years, who want to take part in active conservation and learn more about the wildlife in the Buxton area are invited to become Junior Rangers.
• Discover National Parks fortnight kicks off this weekend 5th April 2019
  This Saturday (6 April) marks the start of Discover National Parks Fortnight – a two-week celebration across the UK with events and experiences running throughout the Easter holidays to inspire people of all ages and interests to go outside and explore and learn more about these special places.
