Come and join the Harvest Festival Celebration at St Giles’ Church, Hartington at 5.30pm on Sunday 6th October. If you can please also bring a donation (or two) of toiletries, baby items or dry goods to the Harvest Thanksgiving collection for the Ashbourne Foodbank. Collection boxes can be found in church.

Hartington Harvest Celebration

  Youngsters in Hartington have handed out boxes of food and provisions to elderly members of the community following the village’s Harvest Festival. The annual celebration of harvest to give thanks for crops that have grown and the hard work involved in gathering them, took place at St Giles Church on Sunday 4 October. Children Read more…

Harvest Festival 2015

This weekend saw the harvest festival return to St Giles church in Hartington. Some pictures of the flowers and donation boxes from the church can be found below but before that here’s a little bit of history around the festival for those who aren’t aware; Harvest is from the Old English word hærfest, meaning “Autumn”.
