In its 2020 Interim Report, the Peak District Bird of Prey Initiative (BOPI) has announced encouraging breeding successes for several raptor species in the moorland areas of the Peak District, thanks to collaboration between landowners, gamekeepers and raptor workers during COVID-19.
Since the government's coronavirus lockdown was lifted in May, traffic-free trails in the Peak District National Park have seen a significant increase on previous years in the numbers of people using them.
Sarah Fowler, chief executive of the Peak District National Park said: “In a year that was already written into the history books by the unusual and unprecedented, no-one in the Peak District expected our skies to be graced by one of Europe’s most magnificent and rarest birds.
